Roake's

When you think of an old school milkshake and burger diner in Portland, this is the type of place you might invasion. Rake’s is basically your cheesy, beefy, greasy burger joint, with really good classic burgers. Though located in the middle of nowhere, I believe this place is one of the better classic burgers in Portland.

During my visit I ordered their Nordious Maximus with a side of fries. If the name “Nordious Maximus” does hint size, when you see the burger it will blow your mind.  The Maximus is a quarter pound patty, topped with cheddar cheese, fried egg, ham, and BACON. Open eating it you’ll notice this burger is build perfectly and doesn’t lack flavor. My sides of fries were very crispy, salty, and fresh but due to the burgers size I didn’t eat much.

Overall, Id gives Roake’s 4 star out of five. Everything about that place was wonderful and the food is good.  The One thing I’d say this place could work on would be their location. Off of Columbia High way, it would take a lot of time explaining to someone on how to get there, because there nothing else around it. But besides that this place is a go.

Little Big Burger

Little Big Burger is a great name for this place with a little burger and such big flavor.  The burger may not look like much but its patty, bun, cheese, and secret relish will have you two bites in wondering where the rest is. Though small and delicious the burger is about the same price as a normal size burger. This may leave customers to order another burger, or still a little hungry.  I personally enjoyed every bite from the first one to the last. I also thought their fries and ketchup were truly unique, and far better than any restaurant basic fries. Overall I’ll be back to little big Burger and I would also suggest it to others.

Five Guys Burgers

On this adventure, I take my self to a well known burger joint that just recently found its way to Portland “Five Guys Burgers.” Rating this place was a little hard due to their customizable options. Unlike other places where you order off the menu, Five Guys has you order from their huge list of assorted toppings. In this particular situation and since I would be writing about five guys afterword I chose to have them through everything on it. With Five guys huge list of toppings it was no surprise the burger came out looking a lot bigger than your average cheese burger.

At first bite, you could taste all the flavors just flowing through your pallet putting you in burger heaven, or for at least a second it took me there. After that second, I began to notice how sloppy the burger was getting due to the fact the bun had problems holding it together. But I still enjoyed it. The best burger in town it is not, but still a solid one. Though a little pricey I could see myself enjoying this place a few more times in the future. But next time I’ll do what everyone else does and get something more fitting for me, instead of throwing everything they had on it.
